Drop your Jaw, say “cap” (ae) = )
Yes! after staying for more than four years in NCO, I’m going back to the start.
I was scheduled to attend the foundations training along with the other internal hire to join the newbies who will be part of the legal compliance account.
We’re studying the schwa, eks vs egz, glottal T, the lax and the tense vowels, learning to “drop your jaw” every time you pronounce “cat, vague, map, hat and the likes. It’s all about neutralizing your “accent”.
Day 1, 2, 3 and it’s day four and I’m really enjoying it! It was fun rectifying your common mistakes, which you thought was right. It gives you more room to improve your self and be better.
Attending the training again is not a “blah” as I thought it would be. It’s like refueling yourself for the next road trip!
Note to self : Drop your jaw! say “cap”. = )

the impulse
I understand the impulse.
The impulse to want to put out your hand and want someone to be there at the end of your reach.
To want someone to be close to.
To want someone to kiss or touch, even if it’s wrong…
To want someone to talk to, to listen to your whispers.
The point is, you can’t control these feelings even if they are wrong, they are still there.

I do honestly believe that people enters our lives for a reason. That everyone we meet who forms an impression has something to tell us. Everything that happens to us is an experience and because of that it can never be bad. An experience can only be good because it all serves us to shape the person that we are, the person that we become.

It’s easy to suggest a quick solution, when you don’t know how much about the problem, or you don’t understand the underlying cause or just how deep the wound is. The first step towards a real cure is to know exactly what the disease is… But that’s not what people want to hear.
